1 - You dont know where that resume samples been. Yes I know. I sound like Im channeling a mother scolding a child to take that stick (or pencil or shoe or toilet plunger) out of his mouth. But sometimes mothers know best. In the case of the free resume samples you might uncover on the internet theres no telling how many times that text has been copied and pasted onto documents. In other words you dont know where its been. If a hiring manager has seen the exact same objective and summary language on six resumes that have come across his desk that morning how do you think hell react when he sees your document duplicating the same text all over again? Not favorably I suspect. 2 - You dont know if the sample youre tempted to copy was even effective.
Starting with the typical blank resume a new teacher should focus on what they know best. That might be implementing new technology into the classroom. Since most jobs today require the use of a computer this is something that looks great on every resume. Employees with this type of experience are typically passed to the front of the line since most likely the new graduate has the latest and greatest in computer training. They should feature this prominently in the first part of their resume. Another potential winner is training in mathematics or the sciences. This is one area of need that many school districts cant get enough of at this point in time. New teachers can use their co-op segment and any skills or courses learned in school to show experience in this area.

Do not copy a complete resume be creative and build your own resume. The samples are to be used as guides only. The best way to use resume samples is to choose a few different samples and pick areas in resume that you like. Make sure you choose a format that highlights your strengths and achievements. Remember the aim of a well written resume is to get you to the job interview. So take your time in selecting samples you need to impress the prospective employer so the resume needs to be dam near perfect.
